Bold and contemporary, this distinctive Aotea silver ring showcases the remarkable natural beauty of one of Aotearoa’s rarest stones. Featuring a striking rectangular Aotea stone with a slightly squared face and softly angled edges, the piece is beautifully complemented by a polished silver-toned setting. Four corner claws secure the stone, while the clean geometric lines and structured silver detailing create a refined statement piece with a modern architectural feel.
The stone displays beautiful turquoise-green colouring with subtle natural variations and delicate mineral patterns throughout. Its polished surface highlights the depth and character of the Aotea, while the angular shaping offers a contemporary alternative to traditional rounded stone settings. The simplicity of the silver band allows the distinctive colour and form of the stone to take centre stage, creating a unique piece of jewellery to be worn, treasured and passed down through generations.
Westland Greenstone is the only retail store in New Zealand authorised to sell Aotea stone, reflecting the special relationship of Kāti Māhaki ki Makaawhio as kaitiaki of this rare taonga and their commitment to protecting its cultural significance and provenance.
